We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Coordinatorto join our collaborative team in Burlington, New Jersey. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure materials are available to support production while balancing cost, inventory, quality, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to effectively prioritize purchasing needs, manage supplier relationships, and respond with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What will the Purchasing Coordinator be accountable for at QPSI? Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, delivery dates, freight terms, and supporting documentation. Prioritize purchasing activities based on production schedules, customer demand, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and business needs. Maintain supplier relationships and communicate regularly regarding pricing, order confirmations, lead times, delivery schedules, shortages, and changes. Monitor and expedite open purchase orders, proactively escalating supply risks and resolving delivery issues to minimize production interruptions. Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing data, including pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, contracts, and ERP records. Collaborate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Customer Service, and Accounting to resolve material, inventory, receipt, invoice, and supplier-related issues. Manage assigned materials and inventory levels to support production requirements while minimizing excess and aged inventory. Support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives through competitive quotations, supplier negotiations, and effective purchasing decisions. Support supplier performance reviews, corrective actions, new product launches, and material qualification activities. Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and customer requirements. What Qualified Candidates for the Purchasing Coordinator role must have to be successful at QPSI? Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of Purchasing, Procurement, Planning, or Supply Chain experience; manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with ERP purchasing systems required; packaging or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred. Strong knowledge of purchase order management, supplier management, inventory control, material planning, lead times, expediting, and cost analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; strong Excel and data analysis skills preferred. Excellent organizational and attention to detail with the ability to review work for quality, and accuracy of work Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and respond to changing business needs with a sense of urgency. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is essential Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.
