Job Description

Job Responsibilities The Procurement Analyst is responsible for procuring services and/or materials consistent with the needs of CLIENT Procurement Operations Group. The Procurement Analyst is responsible for accurate procurement planning, innovative sourcing, contract development and contract administration while maintaining compliance with enterprise procurement policies and procedures. This position is an individual contributor role that initiates and coordinates procurement activities which include preparation of bid packages, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, negotiating terms & conditions, issue contracts, amendments, purchase orders and change orders as required. The Procurement Analyst independently negotiates and settles supplier claims and back-charges with guidance provided as needed. Additional responsibilities include fostering and implementing process improvement initiatives, client relationship management, communicating contractual commitments, and representing CLIENT in the external marketplace. The Procurement Analyst must have general knowledge of the sourcing process, prior experience in construction procurement, project management and contract law. Job Details Minimum 5+ years of experience Experience negotiating commercial T&C Works closely with Legal and Line of Business (LOB) Able to execute full procurement process (partnering with LOB on proposals, equipment needs, bid evaluations, drafting RTA , etc.) Contract administration experience Ability to redline documents and communicate effectively with attorneys or subject‑matter experts Role focuses on Equipment and Materials procurement ( substation transmission equipment, overhead transmission, underground transmission, distribution, stock projects ) — not IT procurement Supports Senior Procurement Analyst Procurement projects may range from $500K to $8M; large RFPs handled jointly with Senior Analyst No requirement for contractors to be fully onsite; employees come in one day a week; contractor should come in at least one day weekly and live within commutable distance Mostly remote, but candidate must be able to pick up items from the office Strong ability to work with contractors Utility industry experience preferred Big‑company experience preferred to demonstrate ability to operate at scale Self‑starter; motivated Strong time‑management skills Able to handle multiple bids simultaneously Not responsible for transactional work, but must know how to run reports in SAP SAP and Ariba preferred Vertical (insurance certificate tracking) experience helpful VendMinder (risk assessment tool) preferred Power Advocate / McKinsey preferred Adobe Acrobat required IronClad (contracts platform) preferred Not a contract‑to‑hire role Proficient in MS Office Suite Procurement background expected; most candidates will have some systems experience Can train anyone on any system; core procurement knowledge required. Must know procurement, negotiation, redlining, and working with contractors Available to interview ASAP. Requirements Bachelor's degree (Preferred) in Procurement, Supply Chain Mgmt, Business Administration , or a related field. 5-8 years of similar procurement work experience Procurement experience will be valuable Supply chain experience Microsoft Proficiency required High level written and verbal skills required Excel spreadsheets Interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Verbal and Written Communication Skills and reading for comprehension.
