Job Overview The Procurement Associate plays a key role in executing assigned Procurement tasks. This includes assisting with daily purchasing activities, processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate documentation, following up with suppliers, and learning company procurement systems, procedures, and policies. Key Responsibilities Assist production, sales, and internal departments assigned by the Supervisor/Manager by providing information regarding material due dates, materials on order, and order status. Update and maintain planning tools, procurement records, vendor files, and related documentation used in daily procurement activities. Assist with reviewing inventory levels, identifying purchasing needs, and placing orders with vendors as directed to support operational requirements. Follow established procurement practices, including order quantity guidelines, lead-time requirements, purchasing procedures, and carrier coordination as directed. Utilize company computer systems to generate purchase orders and submit purchase orders to vendors according to established procedures. Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing data, including pricing, order quantities, reorder points, and related information as assigned. Support the procurement of assigned materials, supplies, and services as required or requested. Maintain accurate records and document control, communicate with Accounts Payable as needed to support timely invoice processing, and complete assigned data entry duties. Communicate potential or existing issues to the Supervisor/Manager, including delayed deliveries, vendor delays, inventory discrepancies, or other concerns that may affect plant production. Learn and apply procurement systems, department procedures, supplier communication expectations, and company policies. Min. Qualifications Minimum of an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Procurement, Entrepreneurship, or Supply Chain Management. Certifications in procurement desired. Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions required. Byrne Headquartered in LaFayette, Byrne is a Central New York-based dairy company with a legacy spanning over 90 years.
