Build Your Purchasing Expertise & Make a Real Operational Impact If you're energized by accuracy, organization, vendor communication, and the satisfaction of keeping materials flowing smoothly, this role is a strong next step in your procurement career. As our Junior Buyer, you'll manage day‑to‑day purchase order administration, new item setup, vendor issue resolution, and cross‑department coordination. You'll gain increasing independence and authority as you demonstrate proficiency — including full responsibility for releasing purchase orders. This is a role where you grow, learn, and become a trusted part of a high‑performing procurement team. What You'll Own Purchase Order Administration Purchase Order Release — Release suggested POs (with sign‑off during training; independent authority once trained). Supplier Follow‑Up — Confirm pricing, ship dates, and documentation; update POs with supplier confirmations. Coordinate freight pickup details and track shipment notifications. Resolve discrepancies across shipments, invoices, and POs (short shipments, pound variances, freight term issues, pricing mismatches). Apply landed cost (freight, duties, other charges) to Item Receipts in the ERP. Support Plasma Drop Ship allocations with oversight from the Senior Buyer, coordinating closely with suppliers and Sales. Vendor & Item Administration Manage vendor complaints and follow through to resolution. Complete new item setup, formula crossover, and mass updates. Maintain label inventory and sourcing. Keep item records accurate and updated in the ERP. Maintain supplier performance scorecards and escalate negative trends. Complete Vendor Return Material Authorizations (VRMAs) and ensure credits or returns are received. Front‑Line & Customer Experience Support Assist with answering phones occasionally. Proactively flag backorders, delays, or lead‑time changes before customers are impacted. Respond to internal order‑status inquiries from Production and Quality. Team Development & Additional Duties Support the Senior Buyer with basic sourcing tasks during absences. Assist with project work and other duties as assigned. High school diploma required; associate degree a plus. Experience in manufacturing or customer service (preferred). Basic proficiency with MS Office. Working knowledge of ERP systems or ability to learn quickly. Comfortable with data entry and maintaining accuracy across multiple systems. Work Environment General office setting with occasional entry into production areas (dusty at times). Facilities handle dairy, soy, nuts, and other allergens.
