Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Sales & Warehouse Operations Representative to join our team. This is a hands-on hybrid position combining inside sales, outside sales, account development, customer service, warehouse management, order fulfillment, and shipping responsibilities . The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with customers, motivated to develop new business, willing to travel, and committed to ensuring products are shipped accurately and on time. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands that excellent customer service extends from the initial sales conversation through accurate and timely delivery. Responsibilities Sales & Account Management Responsibilities Manage and develop relationships with existing customers, dealers, distributors, and key accounts. Proactively contact and visit new and existing accounts to identify sales opportunities, upcoming needs, account growth and product education. Develop new customer and dealer accounts. Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in-person meetings. Travel for customer visits, sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events across the country. Valid driver's license and reliable driving record. Prepare quotes, pricing information, product recommendations, and sales proposals. Introduce new products and programs to existing and prospective accounts. Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, opportunities, and follow-up notes within the company's internal tracking systems. Follow up on inactive or declining accounts to identify opportunities to regain business. Coordinate with management regarding pricing, promotions, dealer programs, and major account opportunities. Assist with sales forecasting and provide regular updates regarding opportunities, customer activity, competitive developments, and market conditions. Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's products and become a trusted resource for customers. Warehouse & Shipping Manage the day-to-day organization of the warehouse. Receive, organize, and maintain inventory. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders. Verify products, quantities, packaging, and shipping information before orders leave the facility. Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, packing slips, and other required shipping documentation. Process UPS, FedEx, freight, and other shipments. Communicate with carriers regarding pickups, shipping issues, delays, damaged shipments, and delivery questions. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts and resolve discrepancies. Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized. Maintain shipping and packaging supplies. General Operations Responsibilities Work closely with management to balance sales priorities with daily warehouse and shipping requirements. Help ensure customer orders move efficiently from order entry through fulfillment and delivery. Communicate proactively when inventory, shipping, or operational issues may affect customers. Assist with product returns, exchanges, and damaged goods when necessary. Help identify opportunities to improve internal processes and customer service. Maintain accurate records and follow established company procedures. Perform additional sales, warehouse, shipping, and operational duties as needed in a small-business environment. Qualifications Previous experience in sales and customer service. Experience in warehouse operations, shipping, distribution, or a related field preferred but not necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable making outbound sales calls and communicating with current and potential customers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage both customer-facing responsibilities and hands-on operational duties. Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take ownership of issues through resolution. Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, email, shipping software, and inventory management systems. Ability and willingness to develop detailed knowledge of the company's products and industry. Experience working with dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors, or other B2B customers is a plus. Experience with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, warehouse management, or inventory control is preferred but not required. Experience in the marine, coatings, paint, hardware, distribution, or related industries is required. Forklift or material-handling experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Because this position includes warehouse and shipping responsibilities, candidates should be comfortable performing regular physical tasks associated with order fulfillment and inventory management. This role also requires the ability to travel by vehicle and occasionally by air for customer meetings, trade shows, and other company events.
The position may require:
Standing and walking for extended periods. Regularly lifting and carrying packages and products. Bending, reaching, and working with inventory stored at various heights. Moving cartons, pallets, and shipping materials. Safely operating warehouse equipment when properly trained and authorized. Ability to lift to [40/50] pounds independently. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and takes pride in both growing the business and making sure customers receive the right product at the right time . The ideal candidate approaches sales as relationship development rather than simply order taking. At the same time, this person understands that warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and reliable shipping are essential parts of customer experience. This individual should be proactive, organized, hands-on, and willing to move between sales conversations, account follow-up, order processing, warehouse responsibilities, and shipping activities throughout the workday. Measures of Success Success in this role will be measured through a combination of sales, customer service, and operational performance, including: Growth of existing customer accounts Development of new accounts Customer retention and repeat business New sales opportunities generated Consistent customer follow-up Order accuracy On-time shipping performance Inventory accuracy Warehouse organization and efficiency Effective resolution of shipping and inventory issues Overall contribution to company sales and operational performance Compensation & Benefits $50,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience, plus health, dental, and vision insurance and paid time off. This is a full-time salaried position . The compensation package may also include a performance-based bonus.
