Job Summary Join our dynamic transportation team as a professional driver specializing in the movement of freight across various over-the-road (OTR) routes. In this role, you will operate a range of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods. Your expertise in truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will be essential to maintaining our high standards for safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Safely operate refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other commercial trucks following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across long-distance OTR routes Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous materials and dangerous goods Transport automobile parts and other cargo efficiently while maintaining vehicle integrity and cargo security Comply with hazardous materials regulations when handling and transporting dangerous goods, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date Perform routine inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations Collaborate with logistics teams to plan optimal routes and schedules for delivery drivers Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight transportation across OTR routes Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for various cargo types such as hazardous materials or specialty loads like flatbed or tanker shipments Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments Familiarity with DOT regulations concerning driver hours-of-service, vehicle safety inspections, and hazardous materials transportation Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record compliant with FMCSA standards Knowledge of logistics cargo handling processes including load securing and trailer management Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients during deliveries This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to excel in the trucking industry by demonstrating professionalism, safety awareness, and a passion for delivering excellence on every route.
