SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Manage and direct the operations of the Residential Lending department including loan production, processing, underwriting, closing, portfolio quality and secondary market activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute the residential lending strategy in support of organizational growth, profitability and market objectives Establish and monitor loan production targets, pipeline activity, turn times, pull-through, pricing and profitability, taking corrective action as needed to meet department goals and strategic objectives Lead, mentor and develop residential lending staff, including hiring, performance management and succession planning; manage policies, procedures, and compliance within the department Oversee the complete residential mortgage cycle, from application and origination through processing, underwriting closing and post-closing, ensuring quality, efficiency and positive customer experience. Establish and maintain department policies, procedures and workflows; evaluate and implement loan origination system (LOS) and other mortgage technology enhancements to improve efficiency Manage secondary market activities including loan sales, securitization and investor relationships, pricing and execution strategy; monitor gain-on sale margins Oversee HMDA data integrity and reporting process. Prepare and present residential lending reports and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board, as appropriate. Oversee vendor and third-party relationships supporting residential lending operations, such as appraisal management, document preparation and loan origination system providers Manage and develop third party origination relationships Ensure residential lending practices comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, investor guidelines and organizational policies.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Extensive knowledge of residential lending products, regulations and market trends. Proven track record in first and second mortgage lending, origination, underwriting and secondary market pricing and sales. Leadership experience in managing teams and budgets. Ability to balance regulatory compliance with business growth objectives.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree or industry certification a plus. 10+ years of progressive experience in residential lending, including significant leadership or management responsibility. Underwriting and credit analysis experience required.
