The Vice President will help experienced producers work as a team, and strengthen the connection among client strategy, creative thinking, operational feasibility, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Strategic Operations & CEO Partnership

  • Partner with the Founder and CEO to translate strategic vision into actionable priorities.
  • Establish a disciplined operating cadence, including leadership meetings, goals, decision follow-up, and accountability.
  • Serve as a trusted counselor to the CEO, providing candid recommendations, and helping distinguish urgent issues from important long-term work.
  • Support long-term planning, including profitable growth, organizational capacity, and the systems required to scale. Organizational Infrastructure, Process & Systems
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of company processes, protocols, policies, and cross-functional workflows.
  • Strengthen the company's internal operating infrastructure, including performance reporting, documentation, systems adoption, and appropriate use of technology.
  • Identify points of friction, unclear ownership, recurring errors, or capacity constraints and lead practical solutions.
  • Work with functional leaders to ensure that processes support both exceptional client service and disciplined execution.
  • Help evaluate and prioritize improvements to Precon's technology stack, internal tools, and operating systems in partnership with the relevant leaders and outside resources. Operational Performance & Financial Partnership
  • Oversee operating performance across the business, ensuring that priorities, resources, and responsibilities are aligned with company goals.
  • Work closely with the CFO and accounting team on budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and financial planning.
  • Translate financial and operational data into practical management decisionsand improvement plans.
  • Balance fiscal discipline with appropriate investment in people, systems and production capacity, and growth initiatives. Organizational Leadership & Talent Management
  • Lead organizational design, staffing strategy, performance management, and professional development across the company.
  • Coach and develop leaders, establish clear expectations, and strengthen the company's accountability culture.
  • Make or recommend personnel decisions with sound judgment and respect, including hiring, promotions, role changes, development plans, restructuring, and termination when required.
  • Partner with external HR, administrative, and professional-service resources as appropriate to ensure that the company has the support it needs as it grows. Department Leadership
  • Directly oversee and develop Precon's experienced producer team and creative function, creating stronger alignment, accountability, and professional development.
  • Strengthen how producers, sales, account management, creative, technical delivery, and production operations work together.
  • Improve strategic client planning, account continuity, producer development, and opportunity selection so Precon focuses on work where its full capabilities create the greatest value.
  • Work with creative, production, and technical leaders to ensure that strong ideas become client solutions that are compelling, executable, and profitable. What You Bring to the Table Required
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, business integration, general management, Chief of Staff-type role, COO, President, or equivalent senior operating position.
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving the operating infrastructure of a growing organization, including processes, cross-functional workflows, reporting, systems, technology adoption, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Proven experience managing people and leaders, including coaching, hiring, performance management, organizational design, and difficult personnel decisions.
  • Strong judgment and financial fluency, including comfort with budgets, forecasting, profitability, operating metrics, and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small to mid-sized, founder-led, family-owned, or similarly entrepreneurial business environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to earn the trust of experienced, strong-willed leaders while bringing directness, fairness, and follow-through to decisions. Preferred
  • Experience in live event production, experiential marketing, agency services, hospitality, destination management, or another high-touch, project-based service business.
  • Experience directly leading producers, account leaders, client-services professionals, creative teams, or comparable experienced client-facing talent.
  • Experience scaling a business or supporting a company through meaningful growth or transition.
  • Familiarity with project-based economics, job costing, event or production workflows, or service-business profitability.
  • Experience working closely with founders or family-owned businesses. What Sets You Apart
  • You naturally turn ideas, discussion, and competing priorities into written plans, clear ownership, deadlines, and completed work.
  • You are a disciplined operator who sees when a process, person, or structure is not working and addresses it directly.
  • You care about people and culture, but you do not avoid hard conversations or personnel decisions.
  • You can improve systems and accountability without making a growing company overly bureaucratic or dependent on corporate process.
  • You balance diplomacy with candor, earning trust through strong relationships while giving thoughtful, direct feedback that strengthens the company.
