Central Office This Open Competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Facilities Management and Building Construction.
The mission of Facilities Management and Building Construction at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, inmates, and visitors. This is achieved through the effective management, maintenance, and construction of correctional facilities, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and support the department's overall mission of public safety and rehabilitation. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES
The position is responsible for managing, overseeing, and updating the departments work order system and managing all contracts statewide for facilities and completing operation reviews. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Acts as the subject matter expert for the work order system (AIMS), contract management, budget requests, and procurement for the State, managing and updating the work order system and overseeing all regional contracts and operational reviews. Serves as the liaison for Assistant Director staff, handling Maintenance, Human Resources, and Regional Maintenance Budgets, and traveling to various institutions to assisting and staff as needed. Administers maintenance and ADA projects, including developing work plans, budgets, schedules, preparing bid packages, analyzing bids, making site visits, resolving project issues, and ensuring compliance with contract documents. Manages the work order database management program, acting as the database manager, training staff on the system, and running reports. Coordinates natural disaster response for the region, identifying strike teams, coordinating with Central Office, working with vendors and insurance adjusters, and preparing necessary reports for FEMA recovery efforts.
