  • US•LA•Calca Solutions•Reporting to President of Calca•Lake Charles, LA Overview Lead the commercial strategy and business development activities for propellant sales for Calca Solutions.

Develop a deep understanding of the propellant industry, including customer needs, market dynamics, competitive offerings, technical requirements, regulatory considerations, and emerging opportunities within the space and aerospace sectors. Identify, evaluate, and pursue profitable growth opportunities by translating technical capabilities into compelling commercial strategies, customer value propositions, and sales execution plans. Manage and provide leadership to sales team members. Responsibilities Develop, communicate, and execute commercial strategies and business development plans to support profitable growth in propellant sales Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in commercial space, defense, aerospace, and related markets; assess opportunity size, strategic fit, technical feasibility, profitability, and execution requirement Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, prospective customers, industry influencers, strategic partners, and other external stakeholders in the propellant and space industry Work closely with technical, manufacturing, supply, finance, legal, and operations teams to translate customer requirements into practical business solutions and executable commercial plans Prepare and present business updates, market analyses, opportunity assessments, and strategic recommendations to management Partner with technical leadership to understand product capabilities, production constraints, quality requirements, and customer-specific technical needs; use this understanding to support proposals, customer discussions, and long-range strategy Lead commercial input for proposals, pricing recommendations, customer presentations, contract discussions, and business case development Establish clear goals, priorities, and accountabilities for direct reports; provide coaching, performance feedback, and development support Coordinate internally to ensure customer commitments, contract requirements, delivery expectations, and service levels are understood and achieved Monitor business performance against operating plans and recommend tactical or strategic adjustments as needed Perform other duties as assigned Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a business, technical, or related discipline relevant to this role Demonstrated business acumen, effective relevant commercial, strategic planning and customer relationship skills typically acquired after more than 10 years of relevant experience within a technical industry Education & Experience Preferred Advanced degree, such as an MBA, or degree in Strategic Marketing Engineering, Aerospace, Chemistry, or another relevant technical discipline Prior experience in space, defense or aerospace industries or prior experience with space and propulsion organizations Experience supporting proposals, pricing, contract negotiations, or business development activities involving government, defense, or regulated customers
