Job Description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Director of Community Operations (CO) will report to the Senior Director, Community Operations to support and drive strategic corporate initiatives. The Director will ensure strict compliance and provision of safe and high-quality care that is representative of Citizen Advocates' mission. The Director serves professionally as a servant leader of the CO management team while maintaining poise and composure in complex situations. The Director will demonstrate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on organizational business issues, communicating appropriately and effectively. The Director oversees all activities of CO services, ensuring integrated services meet the diverse needs of those we serve while providing leadership and direction to CO team members. The Director drives the development and execution of short-and long-term strategic business plans and corresponding budgets through continuous collaboration with senior leadership and the executive leadership team. The Director will have oversight of current and future CO services that further the competitive position of the organization while ensuring strict compliance with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure. Essential Functions (Job Duties) Leads and supervises a team which continuously identifies and implements ways to maximize efficiency, productivity, resource allocation and increase profitability - recommends and implements cost-effective strategies for the CO department, approved by the executive leadership team. Oversight of two Associate Directors tasked with leading Community Living operations, providing strategic guidance, coaching, and support to develop members of the team. Involvement in planning efforts as needed around housing expansion projects including, but not limited to, Harison Place. Strategically plan for expansion of housing services in surrounding counties. On call 24/7 to support the Community Living team in providing quality care to our residents addressing incidents, staffing situations, and other immediate needs of our residents. Acts as representative payee for individuals residing in Citizen Advocates programs. Executes CO business plans by assigning accountability to appropriate and competent staff and/or providers, monitoring progress, making appropriate adjustments, and finding innovative solutions to obstacles or barriers. Evaluates workflow processes and employee performance to maximize productivity/efficiency and ensure high quality care and service provision. Analyzes and has a firm understanding of data analytics and CO financial reports and acts appropriately on significant trends affecting overall performance of the CO department- presents analytics and recommendations to leadership and executive leadership team when directed to do so. Finds and acts on opportunities to grow the business through increased client referrals, new or increased services, or other revenue enhancing activities. Drives quality improvement efforts through effective staff and provider involvement, project management, and communication. Implements timely changes and keeps staff and providers up to date with clear, concise, and professional communications. Establishes and meets targeted goals and developmental growth plans for self and staff; monitors employee performance and conducts effective performance evaluation sessions. Provides business justification for new and replacement positions and strives to hire and retain the highest quality staff within the CO budget, justifying variances as needed. Always ensures excellent customer service levels , as measured by people supported, staff, and provider satisfaction surveys. Develops, implements, and documents policies, procedures, and protocols that ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations. Responds promptly and effectively to client and provider concerns according to policy and procedure. Works closely with the Compliance department and adheres to all auditing schedules. Designs corrective plans of action as necessary and monitors improvement/lack of improvement and adjusts accordingly. Ensures strict compliance with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure Ensures timely submission of Director reports, performance reviews, accounts payable documentation and other materials required to support effective department operations. Participates in Senior Leadership and inter-departmental meetings and serves as liaison to outside organizations. Participates in a wide variety of related projects and other duties in support of efficient department operations . Other duties as assigned. High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, families, people supported, and referring offices Displays courtesy and helpfulness when interacting with all internal and external customers Ability to promote a team atmosphere of trust and professionalism Ability to show strong personal initiative and take ownership over work results Understands the business and responds to all related issues, concerns, and problems Ability to go above and beyond to achieve goals and flexibility to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities Ability to master and enforce program regulations, including OPWDD, OMH and OASAS Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.
Workweek schedule:
Monday through Friday.
Hours of work:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur. Travel Travel will be as needed between different locations to successfully execute job duties. Travel may be up to 50% of job time. Required Education and Experience 7+ years of healthcare experience 5+ years supervisory experience A bachelor's degree is required A master's degree is preferred.
