Full Job Description Overview Join our dynamic emergency response team as a 911 Telecommunicator/Dispatcher, where your quick thinking and exceptional communication skills will be vital in providing life-saving assistance to the community. This energetic role involves coordinating emergency services, managing multi-line phone systems, and utilizing advanced dispatch software to ensure rapid response times. Duties Operate multi-line telephony systems to answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy. Assess caller needs through effective phone triage, gathering critical information swiftly and accurately. Dispatch police, fire, medical, or other emergency services using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software while maintaining clear radio communication. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to pinpoint incident locations precisely. Maintain detailed logs of all communications, incidents, and dispatch activities with excellent writing and data entry skills. Follow established police dispatch procedures, security protocols, and emergency communication standards to ensure safety and efficiency. Experience Prior experience in emergency communication or dispatching roles is highly desirable. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, police dispatch protocols, and security operations enhances effectiveness in this role. Familiarity with radio communication systems, telephony equipment, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software is essential. Strong analysis skills for assessing situations quickly and accurately under pressure are crucial. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are necessary for clear information relay and documentation. Pay:
$15.00 – $17.00 per hour
