SUMMARY Creates schedules and dispatches intrastate trucks according to customer needs and in accordance with Company policies; generally, directs truck drivers while they are at the main terminal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OFFICE:
- Schedule Company drivers and/or other assigned trucks to meet the daily need of the customer while complying with Company policies and guidelines.
- Report any potential issues with meeting customer demand immediately to the Driver Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager or to senior Company management.
- Report all changes to the pre-scheduled load count to the Driver Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager and to senior Company management via e-mail.
- Assist with any problems that may arise in the field or on the road.
- Coordinate with the Shop on road calls and maintain the "Road Call" binder.
- Ensure the drivers and other assigned trucks complete all required paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
- Answer multiple phone calls to communicate with drivers, other assigned trucks and customers.
- Create and close freight bills in transportation management software and on "Daily Schedules" spreadsheets.
- Communicate with customers and Field Operations personnel for any special instructions and directions to fields/loading sites and relay the information to the drivers and other assigned trucks.
- Coordinate with the Driver Managers and Shop Supervisor to ensure equipment required for maintenance is available when requested.
- Monitor drivers in the main terminal area for compliance with Company policies. Notify both verbally and in writing, the Driver Manager, Operations Manager, Safety Department, General Manager or Transportation Manager of any violations of Company policy.
- Conduct special assignments and tasks under the direct supervision of the Driver Managers.
- Must have acceptable attendance and be able to work assigned shifts as scheduled, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Monitor reefer drivers to ensure timely delivery and communicate with customer when drivers experience delays or other anomalies.

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or 0-1 year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and must be computer literate in Excel and Word. Must have knowledge of Hours of Service regulations and all equipment utilized in day-to-day operations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and Company policies. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and accurately is required; as is the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the Company. Must be conversationally (fluent) bilingual (English/Spanish).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages is required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations is essential.
