Job Description

Transportation Dispatcher About Daylight Foods Daylight Foods is a Produce company with a mission to help grow our local food system. We are an organization that believes in mutual trust and respect, looking for long-term, hard-working and committed team members to add to our growing team.
Requirements:
Review drivers with necessary DOT paperwork and/or Samsara electronic files (manifests, DVIR, DOT "ELD" Logs, etc.) Interact with drivers, providing them with daily necessities (i.e. communications and documents) pertaining to driver logs, DOT physicals, drug screens, etc. Send out daily DOT compliance (driver check in) email 1-2 Years of experience in similar position. At check in, ensure that all drivers have logged out of Samsara, and hourly drivers Paycom records are correct and that they log out at end of day. Dispatch Route Delivery Drivers ensuring on-time freight movement and efficient delivery of customer freight in accordance with DOT and all company regulations. Plans and coordinates pickup and delivery requests from customers and coordinates driver routes Assist in determining manpower required to staff routes efficiently while ensuring on-time service and that our customer's freight is delivered/picked-up in a timely manner Review daily performance reports to identify problem areas; monitor and analyze all opportunities to improve efficiency Answer questions/concerns from drivers, including but not limited to, company policies and procedures, dispatch rules, driver's manual, safety and security procedures Speak with Customers regarding delivery times and customer service issues. Communicate with supervisors, planners and customer service to coordinate projections of deliveries. Monitor progress of deliveries; ensure compliance of delivery windows; notify management and/or customers of any delays Verify and complete required documentation and reports; perform administrative functions as required Communicate with Account Executives/Manager, as required, to ensure customers and company's needs are met Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Monitor and input data into all applicable systems Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. In an emergency, may need to take run-outs or step in when needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) One year in trucking industry, warehousing Experience in managing DOT drivers Understanding in Federal and State regulations pertaining to transportation Experience in the use of all material handling equipment including Pallet Jack. Strong knowledge of San Francisco and Bay Area preferred Valid Driver License.
