Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Non - Emergency Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in responding to non emergency calls, coordinating responses for transports, overseeing daily schedules and CAD system. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong understanding of non emergency protocols. Duties Receive and prioritize non emergency calls from the public and dispatch appropriate personnel. Utilize GPS and CAD technology to determine the location of incidents and direct responders efficiently. Transcribe detailed information from callers while maintaining a calm demeanor. Communicate effectively with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical services, hospitals, and facilities to relay critical information. Negotiate with callers to gather necessary details for effective response. Maintain accurate records of calls, actions taken, and outcomes in a data entry system. Apply knowledge of medical terminology when handling non medical emergencies. Ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures during non emergency situations. Experience Previous experience in dispatching or emergency services is preferred but not required. Proficiency in using dispatching software and technology such as GPS and GIS systems. Strong phone etiquette skills to handle high-stress situations professionally. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms. Experience in negotiating with individuals in distress or crisis situations is beneficial.
