Job Description

Available Schedules:
Shift A:
Monday & Tuesday, 10 PM to 6 AM; Friday & Saturday 5 PM to 5 AM.
Shift B:
Tuesday - Saturday, 11PM to 7AM Training will be conducted on a day shift schedule for approximately 2-3 weeks before transitioning to the assigned schedule. About the
Role:
As a logistics provider, we are committed to delivering freight to our customers safely, efficiently, and on time. Our team is experienced in a variety of logistics services, including yard management, switching, warehousing, shuttling, intermodal/dry van services, and more. We are seeking a motivated dispatcher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll work closely with our drivers, customers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLS) to ensure smooth and efficient operations. As a dispatcher, you'll be responsible for real-time communication with drivers, updating tracking systems, and verifying the location of freight. The position reports to our office in Gary, IN. All hours are on-site, remote work is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry & System Updates:
Accurately update dispatch systems and tracking software to ensure smooth operations.
Customer Service Excellence:
Provide exceptional service to customers , drivers, and 3PLs, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
Communication:
Engage with drivers over the phone to provide updates, resolve issues, and track freight locations.
Email Correspondence:
Respond promptly to emails and ensure all communication is clear and professional.
Trailer Location Verification:
Help verify the location of trailers as requested to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
Qualifications:
Office Experience:
1-3 years experience working in an office, dispatch, or call center environment required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and comfort working across multiple computer systems simultaneously. Experience with Microsoft Excel or similar tools is a plus.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience in logistics, transportation, or trucking is preferred but not required. Attention to
Detail:
Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external clients. Please submit resume as a PDF.
