Duties Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams effectively, maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and customer service. Enter data accurately into logistics databases, update shipment statuses, and maintain detailed records of shipping & receiving activities. Oversee road transportation operations by scheduling pickups and deliveries, adjusting plans as needed based on real-time GPS data and traffic conditions. Communicate proactively with drivers via phone calls or internal communication channels to resolve issues swiftly and ensure smooth dispatching processes. Collaborate with supply chain teams to analyze transportation data, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements for fleet management and shipping procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of GPS technology, and transportation planning principles to enhance route efficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and analysis purposes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple shipments while maintaining accuracy in data entry. Effective communication skills for phone call management, internal communication, and customer service interactions. Ability to analyze logistical data for process improvements; strong problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of fleet management practices, shipping & receiving procedures, vehicle dispatch software, and road transportation operations.
