Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Tow Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring smooth and efficient roadside assistance and vehicle recovery operations. In this energetic role, you'll coordinate tow requests, manage dispatching workflows, and communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency across our fleet management and roadside assistance services. Duties Receive and prioritize incoming tow requests via multi-line phone systems, digital platforms, and internal communication channels. Dispatch tow trucks promptly using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems to ensure timely roadside assistance. Coordinate with drivers, customers, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to confirm details, provide directions, and update statuses throughout the towing process. Maintain accurate data entry of all dispatch activities, including job details, vehicle information, and customer interactions using tools like Microsoft Office and Oracle Transportation Management. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to optimize routing and improve response times across road transportation operations. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, safety protocols, and company policies during all dispatching activities. Communicate effectively through phone call management and internal communication platforms to relay critical information clearly and professionally. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching within transportation planning or logistics environments; familiarity with vehicle dispatch software is highly preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a high-pressure setting. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette to handle customer inquiries courteously. Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, transportation management systems like Oracle Transportation Management, and fleet management practices. Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple calls on multi-line phone systems or multi-tasking on a multi-line setup. Understanding of road transportation operations, freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures, and DOT regulations governing vehicle safety and driver compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and reporting purposes. Strong analysis skills to assess situations quickly and make informed dispatch decisions that enhance logistics efficiency. $25.31 - $30.48 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
