Job Description

Emergency Medical Dispatcher You MUST submit an application on the MCEMS website https://muskogeecountyems.com/application-for-emergency-medical-dispatcher/ Hours This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. New hires must be available to work either day or night shift . Specific shift assignments after training are based on department needs. While we do our best to accommodate shift preferences when possible, candidates should apply only if they are willing to work either shift . Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Emergency Medical Dispatcher to join our team. The Emergency Medical Dispatcher is responsible for receiving calls, gathering and accurately documenting information, coordinating emergency and non-emergency responses, and communicating with field units. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and accurately document significant information Gather and relay information needed to coordinate an appropriate response Use radio, telephone, and computer systems to dispatch ambulances and other field units to appropriate locations Monitor the status and location of ambulances and field units throughout calls Communicate effectively with field personnel, callers, and other agencies or facilities as needed Accurately enter and update information in computer systems Qualifications Proficiency in data entry and the ability to accurately transcribe information Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to type efficiently and accurately Ability to effectively use computers and multiple communication systems Ability to multitask and prioritize information in a fast-paced environment Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus Why Join MCEMS?
