The Park Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and appearance of parks, trails, and outdoor recreation spaces. This position supports routine landscaping, facility upkeep, inspections, and special event setup to ensure parks are clean, safe, and enjoyable for the community. The Park Specialist may also assist with outdoor programming and seasonal operations.

Must attend staff meetings and orientation all year round. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

May require evening and weekend work for events and meetings. Must be available to work hours as needed or necessary including, but not limited to, attending meetings, events, or programs outside normal business hours. Must be able to manage multiple items at the same time; prioritize tasks; and meet recurring and periodic time constraints. Must possess a valid State of Georgia Driver's License (Class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) throughout the employment period.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED -- Required. CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification - Required to obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain certification throughout the employment period. Must pass background screenings, which include sex offender registry check.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Able to maintain attention and high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time. Must be able to spend majority the of time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather conditions. Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities and parks. Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment, facilities, and parks. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities. Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's time is split between an office setting and field work. Office environment with occasional outdoor site visits. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold or inclement weather. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and airborne particles.

Pay:

From $18.55 per hour Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
