Job Description

Company Overview The Calhoon MEBA Engineering School (CMES) is a maritime training facility on over 600 acres on the Miles River in Easton MD. The CMES primary mission is to provide training for licensed officers of the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association (MEBA). CMES has multiple training and conference venues as well as residential units across its campus. CMES provides hotel style accommodations as well as food service for its members and participants while attending training. CMES has a full dormitory (hotel style), dining hall, lounge and several recreational facilities. The academic buildings feature classrooms, administration offices and several functioning lab spaces for maritime training. CMES prides itself on service to its membership and the serviceableness and function of all facilities on the CMES property. Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our maritime training facility. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as strong management and project coordination skills. The Facilities Manager will ensure that all facilities meet safety regulations, comply with OSHA standards, and operate at optimal performance levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent team management abilities, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and proficiency with various management tools such as (BMS) software and Microsoft Office. This full-time position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic facilities maintenance team in a fast-paced training and hospitality environment. Responsibilities Manage and supervise facility maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance Oversee the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), plumbing, and mechanical systems using schematics and engineering troubleshooting techniques Implement and enforce safety regulations in accordance with OSHA standards to maintain a safe working environment Develop and manage maintenance repair procedures, schedules, and budgets to optimize operational efficiency Utilize building management and maintenance task software for work order management, asset tracking, and reporting on maintenance activities Coordinate projects related to facilities upgrades, repairs, or new installations with internal teams or external contractors Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, and industrial maintenance procedures Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting reports using Microsoft Office tools Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify potential issues before they escalate into major problems Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility management processes and safety standards Reports to and communicates regularly with the Executive Director on facility projects and personnel Experience Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience Proven experience in facilities management within manufacturing, hospitality and/or industrial settings Heavy equipment experience to include but not limited to, backhoe, tractor and forklifts Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair, HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures Strong leadership skills with experience managing facilities maintenance teams and supervising technical staff Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, engineering troubleshooting, and instrumentation/electrical troubleshooting Proficiency in project management practices for large-scale facility projects Experience with (BMS) software for work order processing and asset management Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safety management practices in industrial environments Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and reporting This position is ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a leadership and working supervisory role within a training and hospitality environment. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
