This role leads the Facilities Team in their work and recruits and equips volunteer teams to serve. The Facilities Director is expected to embody the church's core values and mission through a vibrant, Christ-centered attitude in day-to-day operations and to live out an active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Courageous Conversations Role and Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee all properties of the church and the maintenance of the properties (40%)
  • Manage all buildings and grounds.
  • Collaborate with Operations Director to purchase equipment and supplies.
  • Manage the utilization of storage areas and storage units.
  • Oversee outside cleaning company.
  • Oversee building maintenance/repair services.
  • Schedule outside service providers, including but not limited to: Electrical, HVAC, Lawn care, Snow removal, Parking Lots, Pest control, Interior/exterior painting, Trash, Backflow system, Elevator, Security system, Fire alarm, Fire sprinkler system, Kitchen fire suppression system, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with the Landscape team to maintain and oversee the church grounds.
  • Ensure maintenance and licensing of all church vehicles.
  • Schedule HVAC per the activities scheduled in the building. 2. Lead facilities staff and volunteers (40%) Supervise and lead facility support staff.
  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders and team members, creating clear opportunities for others to serve and lead.
  • Delegate responsibilities and "give ministry away" rather than personally assuming all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Identify and develop leaders who can take ownership of specific areas of facilities ministry.
  • Foster a team culture in which people are encouraged, equipped, trusted, and empowered to use their gifts.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and opportunities for growth to facility support staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Build relationships and come alongside team members in a way that develops both their skills and leadership capacity.
  • Work alongside team members for a minimum of 10 hours per week. 3. Responsible for security and emergency management of all properties (10%)
  • Maintain security at all buildings.
  • Oversee the Security Team on Sunday mornings.
  • Maintain all building AEDs, First Aid kits, wheelchairs, and other medical devices.
  • Ensure that the Response Preparedness Plan is defined and followed. 4. Administration (5%)
  • Plan and administer facilities budget.
  • Maintain all property and service contracts.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Director 5. Fulfill staff functions as needed, based upon requirements and spiritual gifts (5%)
  • Continued growth in personal spiritual formation through daily practices (i.e., chapel, devotion, and prayer).
  • Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as needed, ensuring that no ministry silos exist at Woods Chapel Church.
  • Participate in church-wide events and holidays that are critical to Woods Chapel culture.
  • Share individual spiritual gifts to bless those around you.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Demonstrated a passion and love for Christ.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of facility maintenance and supervisory experience in a commercial office building, school, or church, with preference given to candidates with large church-related experience
  • Certified Facility Manager Accreditation is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, building plans, equipment specifications, and related technical documents.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and perform the physical requirements associated with facilities operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, train, equip, and develop staff and volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen well, build relationships, resolve problems, and work effectively with a diverse group of staff, volunteers, contractors, and ministry partners.

Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
