POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Ozarks Regional YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and welcoming operation of YMCA facilities by performing routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks. This role completes minor to moderate repairs across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility components, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Facilities and Property, the Facilities Maintenance Technician responds to daily maintenance needs, assists with facility inspections, and supports emergency response during scheduled shifts. This position works independently with minimal supervision, travels between association branches as needed, and plays a key role in ensuring YMCA facilities remain safe, operational, and member-ready, contributing to a positive experience for members, staff, and guests while modeling the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform minor to moderate maintenance and repair tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems. Implement and maintain approved preventative maintenance plans, including replacing filters, light bulbs, belts, and conducting routine system checks. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists to ensure facilities meet appearance, safety, and operational standards. Support facility inspections and assist in achieving satisfactory inspection results. Troubleshoot mechanical and facility issues; resolve routine concerns and report larger or more complex issues to the Vice President of Facilities and Property. Respond to facility emergencies during scheduled shifts, including equipment malfunctions, water leaks, and safety hazards. Attend required safety meetings and training sessions. Maintain knowledge of and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans, prioritizing the safety of members, staff, and guests. Communicate regularly with the Vice President of Facilities and Property regarding task completion, facility conditions, and operational needs. Maintain a professional appearance and positive, service-oriented approach in interactions with members, staff, and volunteers. Travel between association branches as required. Perform all other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older. Prior facilities or maintenance experience required. Certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general facilities maintenance strongly preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic mechanical aptitude and strong safety awareness. Valid Missouri driver's license required. Strong attention to detail and initiative to complete assigned tasks. References that demonstrate dependability and reliability. Effective communication skills and a professional, responsible demeanor. Ability to align with and consistently demonstrate the YMCA's four core values. CPR Pro and First Aid certification required within the first 30 days of employment (training provided).
