Position Summary The Facilities Director oversees all aspects of the club's physical infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and systems to ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff — managing smart purchasing and resource decisions that support both the financial goals and hospitality standards of All Sport. The ideal candidate has extensive facilities management experience and proven leadership ability, is resourceful and able to prioritize competing demands, and works collaboratively across departments.
Maintain buildings, systems, and infrastructure — mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool/spa systems — across all buildings, pools, tennis courts, studio spaces, and outdoor areas. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Lead, schedule, and supervise the Maintenance and Housekeeping departments to ensure timely, efficient execution of all facility tasks and a safe environment.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
Manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors, ensuring execution of service contracts for landscaping, snow removal, repairs, and other facility priorities.
Project Coordination:
Work closely with senior management to plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and capital improvement projects, and to schedule ongoing projects such as floor waxing, furniture maintenance, and window cleaning.
Member & Department Amenities:
Use a customer-driven approach to maintain locker room amenities, member storage, communication systems, emergency supply plans, audio-visual platforms, and cleaning/sanitizing systems and supplies.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with building, health, fire, OSHA, and pool/spa regulations. Maintain safety programs and routine inspections.
Customer Experience:
Collaborate with other departments to ensure the facility meets high standards for member satisfaction; respond quickly to resolve facility-related issues.
Department Strategy & Communication:
Provide regular updates on facility systems, supplies, member satisfaction, cost analysis, and quality during monthly manager meetings.
Training:
Support required all-staff organizational trainings (Workplace Safety, Sexual Harassment, Emergency Response Plan, Bloodborne Pathogens), and train and audit department emergency plans and supplies. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team of technicians, groundskeepers, and maintenance/housekeeping staff. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool/spa systems, and grounds maintenance; general contracting experience is a strong plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and contractors. Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and oversee capital improvement projects. Strong, hands-on problem-solving skills to address issues quickly and minimize disruption to daily operations. Experience managing budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing resources for cost-effective facility operations. Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and compliance requirements (OSHA, fire, health, pool/spa). CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or obtained within a defined onboarding window). 3+ years of professional experience in facilities or operations management, preferably within a fitness, sports, or recreation facility. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
