Forklift Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for a night shift position in material handling. The role includes operating a forklift to stack, handle, and move products and materials safely within the plant, ensuring efficient organization and staging of inventory. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently, passing the tow motor operation test. Read and understand reel tags, scrap tags, and tally sheets to facilitate material movement. Move and layout materials and products necessary for manufacturing as instructed. Pick up and stack materials for manufacturing that are to be moved or stored. Safely move equipment without causing damage. Accurately count and record amounts moved, stacked, and staged on inventory forms. Collect and dispose of purge, scrap, and trash generated by manufacturing according to procedures. Clean up and organize various areas of the plant as required by the supervisor. Perform basic data entry and computer work, maintaining familiarity with computer systems. Execute simple mathematical calculations to record and maintain tally sheets, inventory sheets, and scrap weights. Essential Skills Attention to safely operate both a stand-up and sit-down forklift/tow motor. Ability to follow specific instructions. Competency in using computers to document and track production. Experience operating a sit-down and stand-up forklift. High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer skills. Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions. Work Environment The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled production facility specializing in copper cable and wire manufacturing. Safety-toed boots or shoes are mandatory. The company has a dress code, and candidates should review it before interviews or tours. Breaks are taken as a relief person goes around to relieve employees, and shifts are 12 hours long, with employees paid for the entire duration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Holland, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
