Since its founding, Power House has served 49 men on their journeys toward sobriety, stability, and independence. Power House is strengthening its fundraising systems and relationships to sustain its current work and support responsible growth. The Opportunity Power House is seeking an experienced nonprofit development professional to build and manage the systems that turn fundraising strategy into reliable revenue, strong funder relationships, and consistent donor engagement. This is a hands-on management role for a proven fundraiser who can move work from prospect research and cultivation support through submission, stewardship, reporting, and renewal. The role is not designed as an entry-level, events-only, communications-only, or grant-writer-only position. Position Summary Reporting to the Managing Director, the Development and Engagement Manager is the lead internal staff owner for grant production and reporting, the development calendar, donor records and acknowledgments, stewardship, campaigns, events, prospect research, and development communications. The Managing Director retains revenue strategy and major funder relationships; this role owns disciplined execution and follow-through. Key Responsibilities Translate the approved 12-month fund development strategy into coordinated workplans, calendars, systems, and measurable next steps. Lead the continued development and management of the foundation, corporate, institutional, and local government funding pipeline in partnership with the Managing Director. Own the grants calendar and full proposal cycle, from prospect research and writing through submission, reporting, renewal, and closeout. Administer the donor CRM, gift records, acknowledgments, tax receipts, segmentation, reporting, and stewardship workflows. Coordinate the stewardship calendar and relationship follow-through involving the Development and Engagement Manager, Managing Director, Founder and CEO, and Board members. Support capital campaign operations and implementation, including prospect research, tracking, materials, meeting preparation, follow-up, stewardship, and progress reporting. Plan and execute recurring giving, digital, year-end, event, and other approved fundraising campaigns. Prepare donor and funder briefings, proposals, presentations, correspondence, and follow-up materials for leadership and Board members. Coordinate grant budgets, reporting data, compliance requirements, and funder deliverables with finance, program staff, and organizational leadership. Lead the execution of development communications, including case statements, newsletters, website and social content, and impact updates, with strategic direction and content support from the Managing Director. Provide leadership with clear pipeline forecasts, deadline alerts, campaign results, development activity reports, and decisions requiring attention. Required Qualifications At least five years of progressively responsible nonprofit development or fundraising experience. Demonstrated success directly raising at least $1 million in cumulative philanthropic or government funding. Proven success securing foundation, institutional, corporate, or local government grants and managing the full grant lifecycle from research through reporting and renewal. Experience coordinating donor cultivation, stewardship, acknowledgments, donor reporting, and relationship follow-through across organizational leaders and Board members. Experience implementing, improving, and administering a donor CRM or fundraising database, including data standards, segmentation, reporting, and routine quality control. Experience planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events from workplan and budget development through follow-up and performance evaluation. Experience supporting capital campaign operations, including prospect research, tracking, materials, meeting preparation, follow-up, and stewardship. Ability to develop grant budgets, financial narratives, and funder reports in partnership with finance, program staff, and organizational leadership. Exceptional writing, editing, project management, organization, judgment, discretion, and follow-through. Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and own a substantial body of work within a 20-24-hour weekly schedule. Commitment to Power House's mission and respect for people in recovery. Preferred Experience Development experience within recovery, housing, behavioral health, reentry, faith-based, or community-serving nonprofits. Experience building or strengthening a development function within a small, founder-led, early-stage, or growing organization. Knowledge of Los Angeles philanthropy, government funding, corporate giving, and community-based partnerships. Experience with major gifts, capital campaigns, recurring giving programs, sponsorships, and Board-supported fundraising. Proficiency with Givebutter or comparable fundraising platforms, donor CRMs, online-giving tools, and related reporting systems. Faith Based Work Environment Christian faith, prayer, spiritual reflection, church partnerships, Bible study, and 12-step fellowship are visible parts of Power House's culture and program environment. This position does not require a particular religious belief, but the successful candidate must work respectfully and effectively in this environment and support the mission of serving people in recovery with dignity and care. Power House maintains a drug- and alcohol-free work environment in support of the safety and integrity of its recovery community.
