POSITION DESCRIPTION
We're looking for someone who is highly self-motivated, relationship-driven and equally talented. This position requires attention to detail in a fast-moving, deadline-driven fundraising and event production environment. We are looking for an experienced fundraising special events professional to oversee all aspects of donor engagement, production, and revenue generation for fundraising galas, benefit dinners, charity auctions and donor cultivation events.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead end-to-end production of fundraising special events — with primary focus on the annual Fairchild Gala — from concept through flawless on-site execution
  • Develop and manage donor outreach and relationship-building strategies, partnering with clients and development teams to cultivate, engage and steward individual, corporate and sponsor relationships
  • Drive table, booth, vendor and sponsorship sales
  • Identify, cultivate and close corporate and individual table, ticket and underwriting sales to meet event revenue goals
  • Manage solicitation of cash and in-kind donations for auction packages, event underwriting and sponsorships, and maintain accurate donor and gift records
  • Plan and oversee silent and live auctions, including item procurement and cataloging, bid-tracking/auction software, display and staging, and coordination with professional auctioneers
  • Develop operational plans and SOPs, and hire, train and manage operational and volunteer teams to support the efficient execution of fundraising productions
  • Build and manage event budgets and revenue goals; provide detailed tracking and reporting on attendance, gifts, pledges, revenues, expenses and net proceeds
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, partners, vendors and committee members to manage timelines, production schedules and on-site operations to achieve flawless execution
  • This is a high-pressure job with long hours and requires a dedicated professional who is willing to roll-up their sleeves and give 100% at all times. Flexibility in personal schedule is a must (including Holidays and Weekends)
  • Other duties as deemed necessary or as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum three-to-five years of special events, fundraising and/or nonprofit development experience
  • Nonprofit, hospitality or donor relations experience a plus
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications required, with a special emphasis on Excel
  • Familiarity with auction/bidding software (e.g., GiveSmart, Handbid, OneCause) and donor CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Altru) a plus
  • Client and donor focus with attention to detail, flexibility and accountability for results
  • Exceptional relationship-building and solicitation skills, with the ability to cultivate donors, sponsors and clients and drive table and sponsorship sales
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written comprehension and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a calm demeanor in a stressful environment
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate staff, volunteers and event-day committees

$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
