The Philanthropy Manager provides strategic leadership for fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropic partnerships to advance the organization's mission and financial sustainability. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role leads annual giving, grants, planned giving, and fundraising events while cultivating donor relationships, identifying new funding opportunities, and increasing community awareness. Serving as a key ambassador for the organization, the Philanthropy Manager drives revenue growth through strategic partnerships and innovative fundraising initiatives.

Strategic Leadership :

Provide direction to support a culture of philanthropy across the organization. Represent the organization at conferences, philanthropic networks meetings, and community events to promote the mission and impact of the organization. Entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving; ability to foster teamwork and inspire staff and volunteers. Partner with the Communications team to develop compelling case statements, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns. Ability to align fundraising goals with organizational mission and priorities. Operations & Data Management Oversee donor database management and reporting systems to ensure accurate, timely donor tracking and performance measurement. Utilize data-driven analysis to evaluate donor trends and inform fundraising strategy. Skilled in donor database management, data analysis, and performance measurement. Ensure compliance with current fundraising best practices and laws impacting charitable giving.

Partnership Development & Community Engagement:

Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to craft compelling proposals and donor materials. Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust and credibility with donors, board members, and community leaders. Promote the organization through outreach, presentations, networking, and business development activities.

Business Development & Growth Strategy:

Direct the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring meaningful donor engagement and return on investment. Develop innovative campaigns that expand visibility, attract diverse donors to increase overall giving. Collaborate with leadership to position the organization as a recognized leader in Food Is Medicine initiatives and food security for seniors.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit management. High ethical standards, discretion, and commitment to donor-centered philanthropy. Strong background in managing development operations, events, and fundraising campaigns. Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to innovate and scale programs strategically. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to analyze data and use outcomes to drive continuous improvement. Understanding and focus on continual learning of compliance regulations in the industry. Proven passion to uphold and support the mission of Meals on Wheels. Ability to work well both independently and in conjunction with others. Coachable and open to ongoing professional development. Strong partner and team player. Professional yet approachable in dress and demeanor. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) Must be authorized to work in the United States. Ability to travel to community sites and external meetings. Extended desk/computer work and mobility throughout the office. Ability to work extended hours and respond to unforeseen events. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
