The Individual Giving Officer plays a key role within the Development Office and is integral to the fundraising effort critical to meeting the organization's mission to educate and inspire by connecting people with the natural world. This position is responsible for a philanthropic program focused on individual support encompassing annual giving from entry-level through upper-level donors.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of Development Basic Function and Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Work with the Executive Director, Director of Development, and the Board Development Committee on strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individuals in the philanthropic sector
Work with the Director of Development and Executive Director to set appropriate, yet challenging, annual fundraising goals
Conduct individual donor prospect research to generate new leads
Manage the individual donor pipeline and moves tracking within the department's donor management software
Work with others on the Development team to maintain accurate donor records and a robust donor pipeline of prospects and current donors
Assist in the development of fundraising materials used in donor appeals, such as individual letters and proposals, donor newsletters, North Texas Giving Day efforts, etc.
Assist in the planning and implementation of fundraising and donor cultivation/stewardship events.
Assist with writing of routine reports as well as donor-related information needed for Museum publications and website
Attend and assist with special events and programs, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of staff, Board leadership, volunteers, donors, and the general public
The ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive donor information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent computer skills with experience using Blackbaud's Altru, Monday CRM, DonorSearch or similar software/applications preferred
Experience participating in successful fundraising efforts from individuals, foundations or the corporate community preferred
Qualifying Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combined education and work experience
Knowledge of general fundraising or sales principles and experience working in the non-profit sector
2 years in a development office preferred
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
