Job Description

Overview Capital Trailways and Colonial Trailways have been considered leading members of the motor coach industry for many decades. Capital Trailways, and its long-time sister company Colonial Trailways, made the transition from scheduled bus service to a modernized charter service operation over the past few years, with a customer centric focus on providing the best experience available to each and every passenger. We serve every community in the country through charter, tour, airport shuttle, commuter, sightseeing and contract services. Bus service is an essential form of comfortable and efficient transportation and provides the greenest form of travel available to the public. Job Purpose Come join our team and learn and grow with Capital-Colonial Trailways. We are looking for a General Manager to work closely with our customers and team members to run a safe and profitable location that provides outstanding customer service. Management responsibilities include supervising the day-to-day operations of the office, shop and driver personnel. The General Manager also works closely with the senior leadership team in operations and business development. This position will report directly to the Vice President. Responsibilities Create a team environment, respectful workplace and positive culture daily Supervise drivers, office team members and shop team members at specific location Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, team members and senior leadership Work closely with drivers; scheduling, dispatching, auditing and providing trip orders Interact daily with customers on a professional level; following up on quotes, confirmations and charter bookings Work closely with sales team on bids for larger customers, such as universities, college and military level charter needs Oversee the reconciliation and accuracy of payments, account postings and bank deposits Review daily, weekly and monthly business reports and implement action plans to ensure goals are attainable and achieved Ensure required employee records; including driver's license, medical exams, MVR's and violation reports are accurate and on file with our corporate office/Compliance, Safety and HR departments Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and development of all new team members Conduct weekly staff huddles and sales meetings Provide daily coaching and mentoring to build and maintain a high-quality team culture Drive the safety culture throughout the facility, including conducting weekly OSHA safety meetings for all employees and overseeing the proper reporting of incident/accident reports Maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly company records All other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Teamwork, flexibility, integrity and a high degree of professionalism are required. A minimum of five years leadership experience is preferred to successfully perform the job. Experience in the transportation industry is welcomed.
Additional qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field; MBA preferred Class B CDL Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite The aptitude to learn and understand the charter coach industry, including guidance by DOT, FMCSA and other regulatory agencies Good problem solving, organizational and time management skills Strong communication skills, written and verbal Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality with sensitive information Confidence to lead meetings/discussions from conference rooms to board rooms Temperament to work in an extremely high-stress and ever-changing environment Analytical, forward thinking and problem resolution skills are a must Highly Organized and detail oriented Self-motivated Ability to work flexible work hours
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
