Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager - 3PL to lead our third-party logistics operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of distribution, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain activities within a complex 3PL environment. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, process improvements, and team performance to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of 3PL operations, including warehousing, transportation planning, distribution management, and inventory control to meet organizational goals. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and process management techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Oversee profit & loss statements, budgeting processes, and financial performance metrics to ensure operational profitability and cost control. Coordinate with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms for seamless data integration and operational visibility. Supervise warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, materials management, and warehouse distribution activities. Manage procurement activities related to freight services, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and other logistics vendors while ensuring compliance with supply chain standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in demand planning, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain analytics to optimize resource utilization. Lead a team of supervisors and operational staff through effective team management practices, managerial communication, and supervising experience to foster a high-performance culture. Ensure compliance with safety standards, transportation regulations, and industry best practices across all distribution operations. Skills Extensive experience managing profit & loss statements within a 3PL or logistics environment. Proven track record in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory management tools. Hands-on experience with warehouse supervision, logistics management, freight shipping & receiving, and distribution operations. Expertise in transportation planning, demand planning, production planning, procurement, and supply chain analytics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and data analysis purposes. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through supervising experience and managerial communication skills. Familiarity with NVOCC operations, inventory control techniques, warehouse experience, and continuous improvement strategies. Excellent skills in operations management including materials handling, order fulfillment processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and warehouse distribution workflows. $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
