About Uniq Steel Uniq Steel is a premier structural steel fabrication facility dedicated to quality, precision, and safety. We are looking for an experienced General Manager (GM) to direct, oversee, and optimize our daily fabrication operations, maintain strict quality and safety standards, and drive operational efficiency and growth.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership:
Lead daily shop operations, conduct morning production briefings with shop leadership, and perform daily floor walkthroughs to track tonnage goals, workflow, and safety.
Financial & Budget Oversight:
Hold full P&L responsibility. Review weekly job-costing reports (labor hours, fit-up/weld times, material variances) and manage overhead.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Oversee
AISC/AWS
quality frameworks. Inspect welder certifications, WPS compliance, and NDT reports to maintain AISC shop accreditation.
Safety Management:
Enforce OSHA compliance, oversee mandatory PPE policies, conduct daily safety toolbox talks, and lead hazard mitigation and incident investigations.
Procurement & Inventory:
Direct raw steel purchasing (mill direct vs. service center), manage vendor relationships, and oversee inventory to minimize scrap/drop rates.
Erection & Client Coordination:
Coordinate project delivery schedules with Project Managers and General Contractors, maintaining strong high-level client relations.
Equipment & Team Leadership:
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for CNC beam lines, plasma tables, and overhead cranes. Manage, mentor, and evaluate department heads. Qualifications Proven leadership experience as a General Manager or Operations Manager in a structural steel fabrication facility. In-depth knowledge of AISC certification standards, AWS welding codes, and OSHA safety regulations. Strong background in P&L management, job costing, material procurement, and labor efficiency tracking. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and GC/client communication skills.
