Are you a hands-on operations leader passionate about environmental sustainability and operational excellence? We are seeking an Assistant Manager of Sustainability Solutions to oversee shift-level operations, drive processing efficiency, and enforce safety protocols at our materials facility. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will provide tactical leadership to frontline teams, ensuring high resource recovery rates and supporting our commitment to zero-landfill diversion.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Processing:
Assist in directing daily processing activities across shifts. Ensure efficient material sorting, byproduct processing, and accurate residual management.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Directly supervise, train, and mentor processing technicians, heavy equipment operators, and shift leads, fostering a high-accountability team culture.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain high floor visibility to drive a proactive safety culture. Enforce compliance with environmental regulations, company policies, SOPs, and PPE standards.
Schedule & Labor Management:
Execute daily shift schedules, adjust labor deployment, and manage workflow to meet fluctuating throughput demands.
Equipment & Maintenance Support:
Perform routine checks on facility infrastructure, processing equipment, and heavy machinery; coordinate preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
Inbound/Outbound Logistics:
Oversee orderly staging, inbound receipt, and outbound shipment of processed streams, including regulated and non-regulated materials.
Performance Tracking & Costs:
Log daily metrics (yield, uptime, labor hours, safety logs) for departmental KPI tracking. Assist leadership with labor control and expense tracking.
Qualifications & Requirements Required:
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, Management, or equivalent operational experience.
Experience:
3+ years in industrial, environmental, or materials processing operations (5+ years in the broader industrial/environmental field preferred).
Leadership:
1-2 years of direct frontline or team-lead supervisory experience.
Tech Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and digital operations tracking software.
Licensing:
Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, or kneel for extended periods in varying industrial environments, as well as read and interpret technical/regulatory documents.

Certifications:
OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred), HAZWOPER 24-hr or 40-hr preferred.
Licensing:
Class A CDL is a strong plus. Pay:
$24.48 - $29.49 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
