Job Overview STANCO is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Grant and Business Administrator to support the daily business operations that make our housing programs possible. This position plays a key role in financial management, grant administration, human resources support, and organizational operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing competing priorities, and committed to supporting programs that serve the community. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, reimbursements, and audit support. Research, write, administer, and monitor new and existing grants from funders such as the City of Modesto, HUD, and the State of California. Support human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, staff training, and employee relations. Maintain contracts, insurance documentation, compliance records, procurement processes, and operational systems. Collaborate with the Executive Director, staff, funders, regulators, board members, CPAs, consultants, and community partners. Supervise the Accounting Clerk and Office Assistant positions to support accurate financial data and effective office management. Minimum Qualifications Hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; equivalent experience of five years may be considered. Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Experience with grant writing, grant compliance, program development, budgeting, and financial reporting. Familiarity with grant management processes including proposal writing, reporting requirements, and compliance monitoring. Strong negotiation skills combined with strategic planning capabilities to support organizational goals effectively. Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written communication skills for technical writing, proposal development, and policy documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish skills preferred. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities through effective change management strategies while maintaining attention to detail. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, auto insurance, and authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Candidate The preferred candidate will bring strong analytical, organizational, budget management, and communication skills; knowledge of HR policies and procedures; familiarity with housing programs, or vulnerable populations; and the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working independently and collaboratively.
