Hamden, CT Job Details Part-time | Contract $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Google Workspace Program design Project timeline management Research Attention to detail Organizational skills Grants.gov Productivity software Full Job Description Monitor My Health, Inc., a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Program & Grants Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) . This position is ideal for someone with experience in grant writing or grant assistance, nonprofit programs, program development, and/or reporting who wants hands-on experience supporting the planning and implementation of community health programs. Key Responsibilities The Program & Grants Assistant will work directly with the COO and assist with: Grant writing, including researching opportunities, drafting grant applications, gathering supporting information, and preparing required documents Grant and program reports, including collecting and organizing program data and assisting with narrative reports Program planning, development, and implementation Developing work plans, timelines, program materials, and supporting documents Research related to new programs, funding opportunities, and community needs Tracking grant requirements, deadlines, deliverables, and program milestones Preparing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other materials Assisting with partner and stakeholder communications Supporting the COO with other program development and administrative projects as needed
Qualifications Required:
Previous experience with grant writing or assisting with grant applications Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines Strong research and professional writing skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Ability to work independently while taking direction and feedback
Preferred:
Experience working with a nonprofit, healthcare, public health, human services, or community-based organization Experience with program planning, program implementation, grant reporting, or program evaluation Experience preparing reports or working with program data Schedule & Work Arrangement This position is approximately 15 hours per week and will initially be in person . Our preferred workdays are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday . The selected candidate may work two to three of these days , depending on the agreed-upon schedule and organizational needs. The position may increase in hours in the future based on organizational needs and performance. The position may also transition to a partially or fully remote arrangement in the future once the individual is fully trained and able to work independently. Compensation $25.00 per hour Approximately 15 hours per week 1099 independent contractor position We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable with writing, and genuinely interested in helping develop and expand nonprofit community health programs.
