Willimantic The Windham Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated, hands-on Executive Director to lead the development and growth of programs that serve veterans. This is an opportunity for a community-minded leader who can turn ideas into action. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to launch veteran programs, develop community partnerships, oversee staff and operations, and build the funding needed to sustain the organization's programs and salaries in future years. Key Responsibilities Develop and quickly launch meaningful veteran programs and services Build relationships with veterans, community partners, businesses, and government leaders Create and execute fundraising strategies, sponsorships, and events Identify grant opportunities and support grant writing, management, and reporting Develop an annual budget and monitor organizational finances Recruit, supervise, and develop staff and volunteers Plan veteran events and at least one fundraiser per quarter Serve as a visible spokesperson and advocate for the organization Keep the Board informed of programs, finances, funding, and organizational progress We're Looking for Someone Who Has A bachelor's degree Nonprofit leadership or management experience Demonstrated fundraising experience Knowledge of grant writing or grant administration Experience developing programs, services, or community initiatives Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills Experience working with veterans or veteran-serving organizations The ability to work independently, move projects forward, and meet deadlines Military service is not required.
