The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission . In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well.

Job Summary The Grants Coordinator supports Metropolitan Community College's (the College) grant development efforts by coordinating pre- and post-award requirements and processes. This position works collaboratively with the Grants Office team, the MCC Foundation, and other key staff to ensure that the College's grants operations, policies, and systems facilitate increased grants volume and quality. Reporting to the Grant Development Manager, the Grants Coordinator will assist in efforts to identify funding opportunities, assist with proposal development, application submissions, and support grant-funded projects through effective monitoring, reporting, and communication. The Grants Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Grants Office by providing administrative, research, and compliance support related to grant development, submission, and management Essential Functions Provide administrative support to the grants office, including scheduling, file management, communications, and maintaining records, and reporting systems. Assist with research on funding opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations relevant to community college programs. Support the preparation of grant proposals by formatting documents, gathering attachments, editing drafts, and ensuring submission requirements are met. Maintain a grants calendar of deadlines, reports, and deliverables; send reminders to project staff. Support communication with program staff, faculty, and external partners regarding grant activities. Participate in grant-related training, workshops, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned to advance the college's grants development strategy.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or related field OR Associate Degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or related field Two (2) years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years' experience in grant writing, research, or administration in a higher education or nonprofit setting. Familiarity with federal and state grant systems (e.g., Grants.gov , SAM.gov ). Knowledge of community college mission and student support services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of grant development processes, compliance requirements, and external reporting expectations. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of grant and external funding proposal requirements and submission processes. Knowledge of database and grant management software. Skilled in reviewing grant and external funding proposals to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements prior to submission. Skilled in organizing and managing multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines. Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Skilled in maintaining accurate records and tracking grant applications, awards, and implementation activities using checklists, dashboards, and other tracking methods. Skilled in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with strong attention to detail. Skilled in collaborating with college departmental staff, faculty, and community partners on grants and contracts. Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discretion when handling sensitive information. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
