Job Description

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of Director, Enrollment Services and or designee, the Assistant Director of Extension Centers and ESL Programs is responsible for assisting with on campus and extension center offerings particularly serving the ESL student population and the administrative aspects of the programs. This position offers a competitive starting salary of $55,000 - 70,000 along with a comprehensive college benefits package.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist with non-credit and credit registration of ESL students and other students attending classes on campus or at extension centers. 2. Design programs and develop curricula in accordance with ESL grant funded and non-credit or credit offerings. 3. Conduct program assessments of the offerings to make recommendations for expansion to meet the needs of the students and other community needs or opportunities. 4. Work with public funding agencies to ensure overall compliance with funding contracts when applicable. Submit required reports, select program candidates and monitor billing procedures. 5. Supervise the administration of intake, registration, testing, orientation of students, special events, student forums and other informational sessions. 6. Identify, recommend and supervise instructional staff to offer courses on main campus, branch campus in West Caldwell, and
FOCUS. 7.
Review grant budgets and revenue accounts in accordance with college regulations and procedures. 8. Interact with representatives of agencies, leaders of community-based organizations and the residents of the County. 9. Assist in the preparation of correspondence and statistics, as well as financial and other reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations. 10. Supervise the accurate preparation of requisitions, pay forms, class lists and attendance rosters. 11. Maintain strict confidentiality of program records. 12. Prepare routine, special and ancillary reports as required. 13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience:
1. Master's degree in Business or Social Work. 2. Experience administering job training models, including the development and application of curriculum and instruction. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of funding sources such as financial aid. 4. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, preferably bi-lingual.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Master's Degree Preferred Experience:
1. Master's degree in Business and/or Social Work or related items. 2. Five or more years of experience working in the community college sector. 3.Experience in working with community residents of Essex County especially the non-English speaking population. 4. Experience instructing and supervising activities for clients who may be either economically and educationally disadvantaged, in receipt of public assistance, financial aid or grant eligible.
