Victim of Crime Act Grant Administrator (CVRC #10109851) State of New Mexico - 3.5 Las Cruces, NM Job Details Full-time $36.43 - $54.65 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Posting Details New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission (CVRC) is dedicated to providing a variety of services to victims of crime. CVRC was formed in 1981 under the Crime Victims Reparation Act. Our primary mission is to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime in regard to expenses incurred as a result of being victimized. The Grants Administration Department administers funding to organizations to provide victim services statewide. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. This position is a Sponsored Term position that is not funded by the general fund. Why does the job exist? Administer the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance Formula Grant Program to fund tribal, governmental and non-profit organizations to provide direct services to victims of crime and to ensure cohesive non-duplicated services for victims statewide. Assist with the leadership and direction of CVRC. How does it get done?
Duties of this job include:
Administer the federal VOCA Victim Assistance Formula Grant Program Coordinate and collaborate with other agencies to disseminate information about the VOCA Victim Assistance Formula Federal Grant Program Develop comprehensive strategies to strengthen the state's response to victims of violent crime Monitor budgets and financial expenditures on a monthly basis, and monitor programmatic progress reports on a quarterly basis Monitor to safeguard against fraud waste and abuse of funding Coordinate with the Grants Account Auditors to ensure accurate and timely transfer of data to facilitate completion of the federal financial reports by conducting site visits Monitor sub-recipients to ensure the quality of services to crime victims Ensure compliance for grant applications, compliance with the Office of Victims of Crime (OVS) regulations and coordination of grant closures Supervise staff in the Grant Department Who are the customers? Victims of Crime in the State of New Mexico Crime Victims service providers State and Federal government agencies Ideal Candidate Victims of Crime in the State of New Mexico Crime Victims service providers State and Federal government agencies Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience as it relates to the essential duties of the position. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Lifting up to 20 pounds. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
