Job Summary The Pathway Home of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. Shelter Director is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and long-term planning of our shelter facilities. This dynamic role requires a combination of leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on management to ensure that all shelter residents receive the highest standard of care. The ideal candidate will be adept at coordinating with various stakeholders, managing budgets, and implementing programs aimed at improving the lives of those we serve. As the face of the shelter, the Director must also be skilled in community outreach and advocacy, and fostering relationships that support the shelter's mission and goals. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of Pathway Home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff. Maintain an ethical work environment; developing, updating and implementing policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the needs of Pathway Home and grant funding requirements. Assist in the development of and tracking of the shelter's budget. Grant writing knowledge, including applying for, follow-up reporting and tracking funds. Monitor and evaluate shelter programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Request bill payments and pay once approved, administer payroll, track grant payments utilizing chart of accounts. Recruit, train, and supervise staff. Coordinate with external agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive services to residents. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, stakeholders and local and state Continuums of Care. Advocate for the needs of shelter residents within the community and to policymakers Act as Liaison between Board of Directors and staff. Prepare and present reports on shelter activities, outcomes, and needs. Respond to crises and emergencies in a calm and effective manner. Perform other duties as required. Experience Bachelor's degree in social work human services, or related field or five or more years' experience with homeless prevention and/or shelter management. Previous experience in a management or supervisory role. Knowledge of homelessness issues, policies and best practices. Demonstrated success in fundraising and grant management Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation methodologies. Strong network of connections with community service providers and community members. Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution. Familiarity with local, state and federal regulations affecting shelter operations Strong organizational and time management skills Experience working with vulnerable populations. Commitment to the mission and values of Pathway Home of South Central WI., Inc. Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
