POSITION SCOPE
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through daily cycle counting, inventory verification, location management, claim investigation, inventory disposal, and inventory reconciliation. This role supports warehouse operations by ensuring inventory is accurately reflected within the EWM and ERP system, investigating inventory discrepancies, maintaining product locations, and assisting with inventory control processes. The Cycle Counter works closely with Receiving, Shipping, Operations, and Quality to ensure inventory integrity throughout the distribution center.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform daily cycle counts in accordance with established schedules and inventory control procedures in manual, E80, Selective Racks, and VSU locations. Perform cycle counts of non-inventory items and supplies once a month as per procedure. Perform physical and system disposal of the monthly discontinued products approved for disposal on a monthly basis. Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist in identifying root causes to improve inventory accuracy. Verify inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns within the ERP system. Work as a team and assist another building as and when required for inventory control activities Process inventory adjustments accurately while maintaining appropriate documentation. Verify pick locations to ensure products are stored correctly and inventory records remain accurate. Monitor inventory for damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, or expiring products and communicate findings to supervisor and manager. Utilize RF scanners and warehouse technology to accurately complete inventory transactions. Update product labels and location signage as required. Assist with physical inventories and annual inventory counts. Generate and maintain inventory reports as required. Ensure inventory records are accurately maintained and reconciled within the ERP system. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards. Operate a counterbalance forklift safely while following all company safety policies and procedures. Comply with all company policies, C-TPAT requirements, and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to inventory accuracy. Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Demonstrate accountability, reliability, punctuality, positive attitude, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS software. Flexibility to work overtime and additional hours as business needs require. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education or coursework in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain is considered an asset. Experience Minimum of 6 months of warehouse, inventory control, or distribution experience preferred. Previous experience performing cycle counts or inventory audits is preferred. Experience using ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems. Experience using RF scanners. Certifications Counterbalance Forklift Certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
Operate powered industrial equipment safely.
Work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
