Job Description
We are a leading manufacturer of plastic tube packaging for the cosmetic, personal care, and healthcare industries, seeking a detail-oriented Tool Room Specialist with machining, tooling purchasing, or maintenance experience to manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and purchase tooling and cutting tools, including mills, drills, and gauges.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate competitive pricing and volume discounts, and manage the approved vendor list.
- Monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate tool catalogs, and coordinate with production to anticipate tooling needs.
- Track purchasing expenses, analyze spending and inventory trends, and prepare reports to support cost control.
- Process purchase orders, record receipts, and maintain accurate supplier and purchasing records in the ERP/MRP system. Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in tooling purchasing, machining, or a maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of standard tools, including mills, drills, and gauges, and their applications.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRO systems, Excel, and Google Sheets, with basic data analysis skills.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage urgent requests and competing priorities. Position Details
