Job Summary:

The General Laborer (Level 1) is responsible for performing a variety of manual labor tasks in support of shipboard operations, maintenance, and dismantlement activities. Duties include material handling, loading and unloading equipment, debris removal, site preparation, and assisting skilled trades personnel. The General Laborer will support various phases of ship demolition and related shipyard activities, performing assigned work under customer direction and supervision while adhering to established safety procedures and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general cleanup, material handling, and site maintenance. Load, unload, and transport equipment, tools, and materials used in the demolition of ships. Assist skilled trades personnel with assigned tasks. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow OSHA safety procedures and supervisor instructions. Clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards. Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures. Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for demolition activities. Operate power tools and hand tools, such as jackhammers, saws, and drills. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
