Driver/Material Handler

Job Description

Job Summary:
The position requires the movement of parts, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another and the transport of materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.
  • Driving will be on site & over the road
  • only 50% of the time
  • Training in both warehouse operations (receiving & shipping) which will make up the other 50% of the time
  • Must be willing to work in warehouse while driving is not needed
  • Must be willing to drive forklift and skid steer (with training provided)

  • Will be loading & unloading trucks themselves
  • Incentive bonuses after 90 days of employment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
  • Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
  • Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
  • Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
  • Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
  • Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
  • Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks, skid steerer and skids).
  • Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
  • Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to drive safely.
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to plan delivery routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
Education and Experience:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
. Valid CDL license required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
Job Type:

$19.00 per hour
