This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning a specialized trade and advancing within a growing company. Previous dredging experience is not required. We will train the right person from the ground up. Responsibilities
- Maintain dewatering areas and sediment-containment sites.
- Inspect and maintain dredge pipelines, hoses, fittings, and connections.
- Monitor material flow and report leaks, blockages, or equipment problems.
- Assist with pipeline installation, relocation, flushing, and cleanup.
- Maintain geotextile tubes, containment areas, drainage paths, and jobsite access.
- Assist the dredge operator and other crew members as directed.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Perform general physical labor in outdoor jobsite conditions.
- Follow company safety procedures and environmental requirements.
- Remain productive and attentive throughout the workday. Qualifications
- Dependable and able to report to work on time.
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a crew.
- Willing to limit personal cell-phone use during working hours.
- Comfortable working outdoors around water, mud, pipelines, and heavy equipment.
- Able to lift, carry, pull, and handle materials used for pipeline and dewatering operations.
- Mechanically inclined or interested in learning basic equipment maintenance.
- A current driver's license and good driving record are preferred.
- Construction, farming, equipment, landscaping, pipeline, or similar experience is helpful but not required.
Compensation and Advancement Starting pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We are looking for someone who wants more than a temporary labor position. An employee who learns the dredging process, takes care of equipment, stays productive, and demonstrates initiative may have opportunities to advance into equipment operation, dredge operation, crew leadership, and higher-paying positions.
