Job Description

Description We are looking for a Materials Planner to support manufacturing operations by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time in Orlando, Florida. This role focuses on balancing production needs, inventory levels, and supplier performance to keep operations running efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong planning judgment, purchasing knowledge, and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop material plans that align purchasing activity with production demand, customer needs, and inventory targets.
  • Evaluate forecasts, shop schedules, and stock positions to determine required quantities of raw materials, components, and supplies.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with suppliers to improve delivery reliability, product quality, and overall value.
  • Create, update, and manage purchase orders, inventory records, planning data, and reporting within Syteline and related business systems.
  • Work closely with purchasing, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address shortages and maintain material flow across manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor supplier commitments, lead times, and delivery trends to identify risks early and reduce supply disruptions.
  • Adjust planning settings such as reorder points, safety stock, and lead-time assumptions to support efficient inventory control.
  • Investigate receiving issues, quantity differences, and delayed shipments, then drive timely resolution with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and interpret data related to inventory movement, material consumption, and procurement performance to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts aimed at strengthening inventory accuracy, supplier results, and supply chain performance. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to source materials and manage vendor relationships in support of production requirements.
  • Experience working with manufacturing suppliers and external vendors in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP and planning systems; experience with Syteline is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, material requirements planning, procurement workflows, and production scheduling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and identify actionable trends.
  • Effective organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
