Job Description

Company Overview:
Come join a mid to large sized company. One of the largest Utility Operators in the United States. We've been in this industry for more than 27 years with multiple locations. Our headquarters sits upon several hundred company owned acres in the Southeast. We specialize in Aerial Crane/Construction, Firefighting, Disaster Relief, and Aerial Cinematography. We are accepting applications for a full-time Buyer to work out of our Medford, OR location.
General Description/Purpose:
Responsible for procurement of item requirements to support unscheduled demand and for the planning and maintenance of aircraft and purchased parts inventory buffer levels. Responsible for setting up and maintaining a strong supply chain management system in support of company objectives. Tasks involve related steps, processes, and methods that require employee to recognize clear differences in a variety of situations. Job Duties (including but not limited to): Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships. Establish, monitor and purchase inventory to buffer requirements based on: Part usage and planned maintenance. Negotiate contracts with vendors using target-pricing strategy. Perform data entry of purchase order entry and recordkeeping of completed work. Actively participate or lead teams for process improvement activities. Effectively communicate delays, shortages, problems, issues relating to purchase of items for inventory. Assist in devising and carrying out plans to resolve issues effectively. Carry out activities relating to policies, procedures, and information from management. Complete special projects as required by management. Collaborate with internal groups across the organization to meet business objectives. Monitor back-order reports to ensure vendors are delivering items on time to support corporate objectives.
Essential Knowledge/Skills:
Must be able to use own initiative and problem-solving skills to repair equipment. Must possess basic computer skills to utilize email, maintenance and Microsoft programs. Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally to all team members.

Qualification Standards:
Familiarity with Enterprise/Material Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP) systems. Understand Purchasing standards, and techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio. High school diploma and 1+ years Planner/buyer experience.
APICS/ISM
certification or post high school education in relevant field, especially aerospace. Strong written and verbal communication skills required along with the ability to make presentations to supervisor and other co-workers. Negotiation skills. Valid Driver's License. May be required to travel, work overtime, evenings, or on a weekend. We offer one of the most competitive benefits packages in the business.
