Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift Transportation Clerk to join our logistics team. This role involves managing transportation operations during the evening hours, ensuring the efficient movement of freight and compliance with industry regulations. The Transportation Clerk will coordinate shipments, maintain accurate documentation, and support regulatory reporting requirements. This position is vital for maintaining smooth supply chain operations and ensuring timely delivery while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management within a fast-paced environment. Schedule is 330PM start, Sun and Mon off. Can change the start time a little bit. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule freight shipments during the 2nd shift, ensuring timely pickup and delivery. Maintain accurate transportation documentation in accordance with FDA regulations and OSHA standards. Monitor fleet management activities, including vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance checks. Prepare detailed reports on transportation activities, including regulatory reporting and risk assessments. Collaborate with logistics partners, carriers, and internal teams to optimize supply chain efficiency. Ensure adherence to OSHA safety protocols and industry best practices in all transportation operations. Manage freight documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and compliance records. Support regulatory audits by maintaining comprehensive records related to transportation safety and compliance. Assist in implementing risk management strategies to prevent delays or violations. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing transportation management processes. Requirements Proven experience in logistics, transportation management, or fleet management roles. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations related to freight handling, and supply chain best practices. Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements within the transportation sector. Strong understanding of freight operations, including shipment scheduling and documentation. Ability to write clear reports and maintain detailed records for compliance purposes. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in high-pressure situations. Effective communication skills for coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal teams. Experience with risk management strategies and compliance management tools is preferred.
