Job Description:
The Ballscrew Production Planner is responsible for planning materials, components and services (both make and purchased items) to support the production and delivery of the Ballscrew product line at Thomas Instrument. This role requires production planning experience and skills to ensure that operations meet customer, quality, delivery, and cost targets. The individual will work closely with Engineering, Program Management, Customer Service, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure materials availability, on-time delivery, and cost optimization.
Job Requirements :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate closely with the Ballscrew production team to ensure material availability supports production flow and customer commitments. Maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing purchased item availability with cost control and turns goals. Evaluate operational performance and collaborate on corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives. Support in the resolution of production stoppages by participating in cross-functional team meetings to overcome supplier delivery delays, quality issues, manufacturing disruptions, and engineering changes, ensuring on-time production and minimal downtime. Support new product introduction planning as it relates to BOM integration. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in cross-functional planning operations for the Ballscrew product line.
Skills & Qualifications :
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficient in ERP systems, and inventory control. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint). Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Able to travel as required to meet needs of the business.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of planning experience, preferably in the Aerospace/Defense industry. Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP is a plus. Experience supporting both low-volume development and production-scale manufacturing. Project Management experience is a plus. Prior experience working in a product-line or program-based manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
