About the Encinitas Educational Foundation The Encinitas Educational Foundation (EEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational programs and opportunities that enrich the student experience throughout the Encinitas Union School District (EUSD). EEF works in partnership with district leadership, school communities, families, donors, and community partners to raise funds and resources in support of EUSD students. Position Overview EEF is seeking a collaborative and experienced Executive Director to lead the Foundation's operations, fundraising, community partnerships, and organizational development. Working closely with the Board of Directors, EUSD leadership, school communities, donors, and community partners, the Executive Director will help advance EEF's mission while supporting strong organizational systems, responsible financial stewardship, and sustainable fundraising. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week, primarily office-based with hybrid flexibility. Regular in-person work is expected, including a minimum of one day per week in the EEF office, along with attendance at
EEF/EUSD
meetings, school-site activities, and community events as needed. Some evening and weekend availability and local travel are required. Key Responsibilities Provide organizational leadership and support the Board of Directors in advancing EEF's mission, priorities, and strategic goals. Lead fundraising and development efforts, including donor cultivation, sponsorships, grants, corporate partnerships, campaigns, and community-based fundraising opportunities. Oversee EEF's day-to-day operations and organizational systems. Support sound financial management, budgeting, internal controls, reporting, and responsible stewardship of Foundation resources. Strengthen relationships with EUSD leadership, school communities, donors, business partners, and community organizations. Support communications, outreach, and donor engagement efforts that increase awareness of EEF's mission and impact. Coordinate and support EEF staff, volunteers, Chapter representatives, committees, and program partners. Maintain appropriate organizational records and support compliance, insurance, risk-management, and governance practices. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising/development, organizational management, education, community engagement, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated experience with fundraising, donor development, partnerships, grants, or related revenue-generating activities. Strong organizational, communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills. Experience with financial and organizational management, including budgets, operations, and internal processes. Ability to work effectively with a nonprofit Board of Directors and a broad range of community stakeholders. Experience with an education-focused nonprofit, educational foundation, public school system, grants, or major gifts is preferred. Selection Process The selection process will include application screening, a panel interview and performance task, and reference checks for finalist(s). Interviews and performance tasks are anticipated to be held during the week of October 19, 2026. Conditions of Employment The successful candidate will be required to complete applicable pre-employment clearances, including fingerprint/background clearance, and provide proof of a negative tuberculosis (TB) test prior to employment with EEF. Additional pre-employment requirements, if applicable, will be communicated as part of the conditional offer and clearance process.
Pay:
$50.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
